Is the way gre(AI)t ahead?

This week, OpenAI has created a new, more expensive tier for its flagship chatbot ChatGPT.

The company has introduced ChatGPT Pro, a new USD 200 monthly subscription tier that includes unlimited access to OpenAI o1, GPT-4o and Advanced Voice mode. It underscores the firm's ambitions to further commercialise its technology, which had kicked off the AI boom.

On one hand where OpenAI has seen recognition and acceptance, yet, it is still receiving that “untrustable” look from the consumers as well as the companies.

Today, about 70 per cent of organisations have begun adopting AI and the majority of executives are championing it. But most are still playing it safe, moving slowly and focusing on small wins instead of bold moves, stated the 2025 Trends Report by Dept.

Last week, on the occasion of Black Friday Sales and Cyber Monday, we witnessed how AI chatbots are helping customers out - to an extent. In the same week, five Canadian news media companies filed a legal action against ChatGPT accusing the artificial-intelligence company of regularly breaching copyright and online terms of use.

Amazon has developed a new generative AI model, code-named Olympus, capable of processing photos and videos. On the contrary, Australia's new law, approved by its Parliament last week, is an attempt to swim against many tides of modern life - formidable forces like technology, marketing, globalisation and, of course, the iron will of a teenager.

Even with all the rules and restrictions, the AI boom is ‘still’ on the rise. As industries continue to be transformed by artificial intelligence. The message is clear: The future belongs to those who can strategically deploy and continuously innovate with AI.
