Rapid innovation is changing the mining industry. Advances in automation, artificial intelligence, and offsite control rooms are reshaping production methods. Sustainable tech solutions are improving energy efficiency and reducing local environmental impacts.

Together these mean that mining jobs are becoming less dangerous to worker health and safety, but automation is also rendering many current mining jobs obsolete. Meanwhile, new technologies are enabling the extraction of previously unavailable mineral deposits as worldwide demand for minerals grows.
