Meet a real life wavemaker! L’Oréal's Yingying Mao, Digital Associate

My journey at Wavemaker began right after I graduated college in 2022 on the?L’Oréal?Luxe digital team, and I could not be more grateful for everything I have experienced. I distinctly remember writing down on my bucket list a year ago, "Secure my first full-time job in marketing." Now, not only am I here, but with the help of my team, my clients, and Wavemaker, I am making real progress towards achieving my career goals.?

Working with?L’Oréal?brands to develop trendy, innovative strategies and then executing them is both exciting and rewarding. In less than a year, I’ve had the pleasure to work with some of the largest digital platforms such as HBO Max and Cosmopolitan on omnichannel campaigns to support two new luxury fragrances launches. I would love to give many thanks to my entire team and leadership for guiding, supporting, and developing my expertise and skillset so I excel forward.?

Bringing our media activations to life is never easy. It involves lots of brainstorming, hard work, and communication in the background. But when I see our team’s final work across media channels generating buzzwords and our final campaign performance quantitatively proving that we have delivered value for the clients, this provides me a sense of tremendous fulfillment and fuels me to continue to work harder.

As we evolve in the rapidly changing marketing world, my WHY and HOW are as solid as ever. My why is to shape consumers’ brand decisions and experiences through marketing and technology. And my how is to open eyes, ears, and hearts, and keep finding better ways for growth.
