Wave-Particle Duality

Wave-Particle Duality

  • Dual Nature of Particles: Particles such as electrons and photons exhibit both wave-like and particle-like properties. For example, electrons can create interference patterns (a wave property) and also be detected as individual particles.
  • De Broglie Hypothesis: Proposed by Louis de Broglie, this principle suggests that every particle has an associated wavelength, given by λ = h/p, where h is Planck's constant and p is the momentum of the particle.
