Meet a real life wavemaker! DoorDash's Chyann Sapp, Strategy Manager
I joined Wavemaker a year and a half ago as a Strategy Manager on the DoorDash team after transitioning from the nonprofit, public, and private sectors. As a newbie to media, I get opportunities each day to explore new skills and tools that help our team to deepen our understanding of clients' core needs and goals. The best part of my job thus far has been cultivating relationships with mentors who graciously allow me to pick their brains and absorb their vast knowledge of the media world.
Beyond our devotion and work ethic, I appreciate that our team brings an abundance of unique experiences and perspectives that help us to challenge client growth and success. The DoorDash team is constantly brainstorming innovative ways to advance client goals because we understand the importance of not only securing DoorDash’s strong hold in the food delivery space but enhancing consumer experience and expanding brand visibility across new verticals.
As a strategy manager, my role amplifies positive provocation by pushing our teams to go beyond the briefs, deepen understanding of clients’ problems, and expand the role of the media plan in crafting effective solutions. I believe the vital aspects of success in positive provocation include committing to active listening, being a lifelong learner, enjoying the analysis and visual storytelling process, and always saving space for creative exploration.
