The Wave of Emotions!

The Wave of Emotions!

"You never know how strong you are, until being strong is the only choice you have"?

My mother was recently diagnosed with blockages in major arteries and minor arteries following an angiography. The surgeon urged us to perform the bypass operation right away and warned that if it was postponed, her life would be at risk. In addition to being devastated, I was concerned about telling my mother about it because she is quite sensitive and anxious. After much deliberation, I handed over this difficult task to the doctor and asked him to explain the procedure to my mother. She surprisingly grasped the situation and handled it in a way that gave us the confidence to proceed with the procedure.

Since I was worried I couldn’t sleep the night before the surgery. I wandered aimlessly along the hospital hallway while wondering about my mother's situation and how the procedure would pan out. I had a tonne of inquiries in my head that I had no answer to... The next day early morning nurses & doctors kept visiting my mom & started prepping her for the surgery.?

Finally, it was time for the surgery and while we were on the way to the operating theater I glanced into my mom’s eyes thinking that she might be scared but to my surprise, she was quite strong and prepared for the process. The surgery went on for four long hours and it looked like an entire day passed by. I was sitting right at the entrance of the operating theatre to know how the procedure went. Finally, the doors opened and the doctor walked right towards me and told me that the procedure went well and my mother will recover soon. At that point, I cried inside and said, "Dear mum! You completed this! You are more powerful than everyone else thinks!

During the entire phase, the trauma that I underwent was unimaginable, especially being a single child it was even more challenging for me to handle this situation on my own. When people around me wondered how I would take such a difficult situation alone, I was quite calm and confident that we would get through it. I tapped my shoulders and reminded myself, "You can do this!" "You are strong!" and "You are going to bring your mom home safely!"?

思特沃克软件技术(中国)有限公司 has been my support system during the entire span of 4 years. When I didn’t know what to do during such a testing situation there were people who gave me a lot of options like hospitals, doctors and some also went to an extent of getting appointments. I have never come across such a warm and close-knit work environment before. Special thanks to my colleagues-cum-friends who kept checking in to see how I was doing during the toughest time of my life. All their words gave me much-needed strength and peace of mind. It is important to have people like this to support us in our lives and I was fortunate enough to have them, which helped me to overcome this difficult phase. I am forever grateful to everyone who showered lots of love, care, and prayers for me and my family.?

I would not be able to complete this without thanking Cardiologist Dr. Ramraj and Surgeon Dr. Krishna Kishore of Royal Care Super Speciality Hospital for providing confidence to us, taking good care of my mom, and successfully completing the surgery.?

Note to Amma:-

Dear Amma! Even though you never seemed brave and courageous but in reality, you turned out to be the bravest and strongest person I have ever met. Throughout my life, you took care of me, motivated me & supported me and now it's my turn to do the same. Thank you amma for being there for me…!

A valuable lesson that I learned from this journey is “Whatever may be the situation if you stay strong and be positive half the battle is already won!”

My mother has returned home and is doing well.
