Wave 2 of the Culture Transformation

Culture and Digital Transformation

The duration of Wave 1 is typically 12-18 months. In Wave 2, you will build upon the progress made in Wave 1 to further drive the Culture Transformation.

Key actions in Wave 2 include:

  1. Digital Careers: Develop a Digital Careers path within the company, including various levels and training paths. This will help attract and retain digital talent, and also transform the HR organization to become more digital and software-driven. It may require recruiting HR professionals from the digital/software industry.
  2. Data/AI Universities: Establish programs for employees on Data & AI. Offer two sets of courses: one for employees with a focus on Data and AI, and another for employees in traditional roles who would benefit from being more knowledgeable in Data, Analytics, and AI.
  3. Digital Week: Organize a global Digital Week at the company headquarters to bring employees from various departments together and educate them about digital initiatives. Invite digital-native employees, outside digital companies, and have an online version for those unable to attend in person.
  4. Personalized Digital MOOC: Build personalized modules to demonstrate the value of digital initiatives in traditional departments such as sales, marketing, manufacturing, and R&D. This will help a wider range of employees become comfortable with digital technologies.
  5. Mentor BUs and Regions: In addition to reverse mentoring for top executives, organize mentoring for the heads of business units and regions to accelerate the deployment of digital initiatives and ensure their sustainability.
  6. Top Executives+: During bi-annual meetings, educate the group of 100-200 leaders who drive the company's strategy about digital initiatives and leverage outside-in perspectives.
  7. Ambassadors, Internal Social Media, etc.: Leverage the influence of top leaders on the organization to increase participation and engagement on internal social media. Invest time and resources to grow the network of ambassadors across the company.
