WATERED DOWN DREAMS

Do you recall when you were younger, how enthusiastic you used to be about your dreams? Nobody could tell you that you would never succeed. You had no choice but to succeed in your goals. You were in control of your life. By telling you that life is uncertain and that things might not go as planned, people sought to demoralize you. Your dreams were unaffected by all of these subliminal attempts to bring you down. Remember that determination to succeed and make something out of your life.
Then you grew up and faced challenges, some small and some big.
Some people had to compromise on their original goals because they couldn't afford to pursue them. On our aspirations and future, poverty has a big impact. Some parents just cannot afford to provide their gifted children with the kind of education that would enable them to succeed in this world. You can dream, but a slum dweller has greater obstacles to overcome than a suburban dreamer.
The young dream without boundaries since their eyes have not yet been enlightened to the harsh truths of this life. But the day will come when they will understand that while the world can let you dream, it will do all in its power to dash those aspirations. The war is now just getting started. Either you give up or you prove everyone wrong by being the exception. How vital are your dreams to you? Do they merit the fight??
Never let a fellow human being put you down. My sister used to have a menial job. Her manager inquired about her dreams after noticing that she was intelligent. She informed him of her desire to become a microbiologist. He cautioned her not to put herself above herself as he fixed her with his gaze. She didn't say anything, but she was enraged by that comment.
She left that job two years later, started working at another, and began studying microbiology. The statement made by my sister's boss perplexed me. He certainly was a dream crusher. You will encounter a lot of dream-shatters throughout life.?Do not pay attention to them.?Stay focused on your goals even if they take long. A degree finished in 10 years is still a degree and a great achievement.
Some people's ambitions are stifled by their family history. Breaking free and being the first in your family to get a degree is a challenge if education isn't valued and there are no graduates.?You will be called the know it all, the one who thinks is better than everyone. Stay on the course and focus. Prayer and determination will get you to your destination.
DON'T GIVE UP EVEN IF IT SEEMS IMPOSSIBLE
You need hope and faith on your journey, and that comes from God. He is ever present. He will lead you, guide you, and enable you when you can't go on.
Proverbs 3:5-6?ESV
Trust in the?Lord?with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.
Psalm 32:8?ESV
I will instruct you and teach you in the way you should go; I will counsel you with my eye upon you.
The choice is yours.
Do you want to give up on your dreams or pursue them against all odds?
I have not yet fulfilled my objectives, but I have sought information. I take any free course that provides me with information on what I wish to study further. I know that this knowledge will help me when I begin my further education. I never, ever give up. I keep striving, and when I fail, I take a break and pick up where I left off. Even if I only take one step per day, I will get much further than the person who is sitting and doing nothing.
Have you ever watched a baby trying to reach for a cookie that the mother hid? That baby will get hold of a chair, a stool, a stepladder or anything that will help to get to the cookie. The baby won't over analyse the situation, pause and ask if they will balance properly or if they will fall. The objective is to get the cookie, and they usually do.
My advice to grown-ups is to get the cookie.
Go after your dreams. It may take longer than planned, continue pursuing. Be relentless.
You will win!

1 年Liking is not enough; supporting is too much, dear Tendai, since you go beyond what I can agree with; love is better, as agree with your underlying sentiment. What cannot I agree with? -- The God-idea. I am unable to believe in God. Has God a reality beyond the boundaries of my skull? I have no way to answer that; have you? Many things can destroy our dreams. One you have not mentioned is mental illness. And yes, money is another. Both are severe handicaps that can in part be overcome.
