A partnership for water sustainability Namaste from Maithri Aquatech, India ??
Virtusa, as we all know, is a global sustainability leader to build a more sustainable, responsible, equitable, and inclusive world. Its sustainability initiatives focus on reducing environmental footprint and demonstrate ethical maturity and respect for all stakeholders.
Accountability and responsibility for sustainability and ESG footprint with purpose and passion for people and planet is the mantra that drives the company's multi geographical, multi sectoral business endeavors.
They choose their partners with fine tooth comb due diligence and critical eye for minutest of the details, rigorous and vigorous layered systems are in place to evaluate. Evaluation is a circular process.
Maithri Aquatech is pleased to announce that it has commenced work on the first major collaborative project of their CSR initiative installing #MEGHDOOT Air to Water Generators (#AWGs) at 9 Schools in Hyderabad & Chennai facing acute shortage of potable water. Our plug & play machines harvest water from atmosphere to generate a new alternate category of purest and safest possible potable water that is natural, sustainable, renewable, instant, predictive, decentralizable and perennial.
No negative impact on environment as the process mimics a nature-based solution, most cost-effective, runs both on grid and off-grid energy sources, uses IOT to give the user real time data on water quantity generated, groundwater saved and above all is #scalable.
It all started with a brief personal meeting with Dr. Krishna Yedula about an year ago. After that, Dr. Yedula took it upon himself to drive this initiative. His team approached us and after a lot of interactions, exchange of documents, visits to existing installations, we were awarded a pilot project of installing a 150 LPD machine at one of its Chennai offices.
After assessing the quality and quantity of water generated by an independent agency, the Virtusa Team gave us a go ahead for visiting certain government schools in Chennai and Hyderabad that they want to support with safe, clean and healthy water.
In the first phase, work has begun at Chennai Schools scheduled to finish by the desired deadlines.

Yesterday, me and my colleague Mr. Shyam Sunder Mani got the opportunity of visiting one of Virtusa's campuses in Hyderabad and more importantly had the good fortune of meeting and interacting for a good 2 hours with Dr. Yedula. Attached picture speaks louder than words!
Dr. Yedula is a passionate human being, extremely knowledgeable, with hands-on experience of over 27 years devoted to innovating, developing, implementing and constantly improving responsible and sustainable business practices in all possible forms of partnerships for purpose.
He gave us a peep into exciting and imaginative initiatives that the team is working on, water-environment nexus to bring urban settings closer to nature including reviving and owning a couple of dried and rotting waterbodies in PPP mode, advocacy and awareness generation campaigns for higher impact and outreach, improving water use efficiency using technology and innovation, (The campuses in Hyderabad recycle 100% of their used/waste water using state-of-the-art in-house STPs), going completely green leveraging renewable energy sources at scale, and so on.
Dr. Yedula discussed at length about using our #AWGs for the Hyderabad Campuses and has given us the task of designing a solution catering to the potable water requirements......
We are at work, non-stop to resolve the global drinking water shortages hand in glove with Virtusa.
This is just the beginning of a paradigm shift in creating and sustaining social development through partnerships for SDGs 2030 and beyond!
We are totally in sync with Virtusa's corporate citizenship tradition of giving back and caring for the communities in which we live and work and the environment.
