Water- The Life Giving Flow

What proved on Mars

That life was there?

That one drop of it

That made it clear.

Listen to the peace of the tranquil sea.

There’s a message enclosed for thee.

From the death-kiss of pollution,

She wants to be free.

Urbanisation, industrialisation

Are creating a mess of all.

Deteriorating essential part of our lives,

Water- into alcohol.

Mankind, is this the dream of your progress?

For which you are drunk with the wine of success.

Polluting water and dreaming of becoming the master?

Without even bothering once of the incoming disaster.

Water is in no mood

To stand any more abuses.

I am the elixir of life,

This is what it induces.

Save water, save earth,

Save life, save man.

Save this priceless gift of nature

As much as you can.

Can you imagine this nurturer’s vitality?

This it the time to realise our cruelty.

Remember, God always allows u-turns.

Please don’t make water impure that it’s the most valuable thing you can earn.

Nature no more can tolerate this destruction.

What is the benefit of nuclear construction?

What does it tell about God’s intelligent man?

That he is selfish and ruins nature’s plans.

I tried hard to gain confidence to express my fears,

That I don’t want this brilliant liquid to turn into tears.

For every well-wisher of mankind,

This is the time to show.

That Water it the essence of life,

And it is the life giving flow.

This poem that I wrote when I was in school seems more relevant today. Time to wake up to this alarming situation!
