Water is involved in every system and every event in our bodies--nothing happens without it. It transports every nutrient, hormone, enzyme, electrolyte, and brain pulse--and a whole lot more--to where it needs to be and do its job. Water is KEY to our bodies functioning at top capacity.
Ever feel sluggish and tired? Dehydration is a real thing and studies have found that even mild dehydration causes worsening of mood and makes tasks seem even more difficult; dehydration can also cause headaches, fatigue, constipation, deepen ADHD symptoms, and more.
Do you know how much water you should be drinking on the daily? Half your body weight in ounces is the minimum. That means a 150# person, should drink at least 75 oz. per day.
Think that sounds like a lot? You can build up to it. Use a measured water bottle with a built-in straw. I personally have a 30 oz. bottle that easily keeps me on track. Keep it with you at all times and every time you look at it, take a drink. (Your kidneys will adjust!)
After going 7-8 hours without water (when you sleep), a good way to replenish is to drink a big glass first thing in the morning. Try this in the morning and see how you start to feel: 10 oz. (or more) of water--add a pinch of unrefined crystal salt (Himalayan pink salt), a pinch of cayenne pepper, and a squirt of lemon juice. This gives us a great jumpstart that prepares our digestion, hydrates us, and opens up proper secretions for detoxing.
I promise you, once you maintain constant hydration, you will feel better and perform better!
