Water Content' or Water Con'tent?
The human body is composed of a whole lot of carbon along with various other elements like calcium and sodium. Like the surface of the Earth, the majority of our body is filled with water. Approximately 70% of our internal contents is water! It is safe to assume that water content is our most precious commodity. It fills every cell. It surrounds every cell. It accounts for 90% of our blood. It is the basis for all chemical reactions. It is the essence and foundation of life. It is the inorganic thread of our organic existence. It is the foundation of all thought processes and memory traces. It is undeniably who we really are. It is no coincidence that we feel a magical connection with water. Why do we enjoy time at the beach swimming in water, looking at water, listening to waterfalls or rivers flow. Everything about water is stimulating and positive, because we see ourselves in water. We are content when we are near it because the bulk of our content IS water. We share a special bond with water because, like chemistry, water creates special bonds with hydrogen. This allows water molecules to attract each other and to allow hydrogen ions to disassociate. This is what controls the pH of our blood and body. This is the basis for an appropriate environment for essential reactions to occur. The oxygen part is necessary for sugar breakdown into energy for every cell in the body. Thus, water is literally responsible for anything and everything that happens within, and how we perceive everything in our environment. It is important to choose foods which carry a high water content, such as cucumbers, celery, tomatoes, watermelon etc. to keep the body hydrated in case of a lack of drinking water. Are you content with the contents of your food? Does your food carry the necessary water content for you to be content? Are you content with the water content? What does your body contain? What does your food contain? These are questions you should ask daily. It should be a source of contention. Dehydration is the foundation of inflammation, and chronic inflammation is the beginning of all disease processes. If you cannot manage to eat foods with a high water content, nor drink 8 glasses a day, then try a water fast where you take one day a month to consume water and nothing else. This will change your body content as if you are filling up a container with water. Your body is a container after all, filled up to nearly 3/4 to the top with water. Think of a day where you do not drink water and visualize the level dropping below the 7 mark on the container, where 7 represents 70%. We never allow oil to get below a certain mark in an engine because we know this is dangerous for the machine. Yet we do not take our water level seriously. If we had some sort of sensor that told us then we might pay closer attention. Learn how to pay attention to your water content. It affects how you think and how you feel. Perhaps then, not only will you feel content with your drinking habits and food intake, but you will also be content with your internal contents, because it is your water content that creates the actual feeling of being content.
