Watch Your MOUTH...

We all know that the Bible says in proverbs 18 “that the power of life and death is in the tongue and those who love it will eat its fruit”, and with this truth we realize that whatever we speak has power to either bring life or death. Of course the “death” is not necessarily referring to the physical body and imminent death, but about the death of the spiritual life and spiritual “fruits” that is eternal.?

In this day and age where everyone seems to be divided, angry, afraid, bitter, etc, it is critical that WE, those who proclaim the “gospel of the kingdom”, to be beacons of light and hope.?We are to bring LIFE and LIGHT to all those we come into contact with.?We are to have an intimate relationship with the Father though the Son and the Holy Spirit as Jesus prayed in John 17 “?22?And the?glory which You gave Me I have given them,?that they may be one just as We are one:?23?I in them, and You in Me;?that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.?

IF we are ONE with God, then we will have his heart AND mind.?IF we are ONE with God, we will speak the TRUTH in LOVE.?We can TRUST the Holy Spirit to do what only HE can do… convict of sin (John 16) and lead people to repentance and salvation.?We are to “moved with compassion” as Christ was AND is. We are to be humble, kind, generous, gracious etc.?

So today, let us keep our mouths shut unless we know that God would have us speak.?We must remember that wherever we go we “no longer live but Christ lives in us” (Galatians 2) and HE will make known to us what HE would have us say and “do”.?We are his “ambassadors” (2 Corinthians 5) on this earth and we must represent HIM.. NOT our own opinions and feelings.?

In conclusion, I pray that we will have the gift of “the fear of the LORD”, so that we may walk humbly and reverently before our God and our Father, and be FILLED with HIS WISDOM.?

James 3:

9?With the tongue we praise our Lord and Father, and with it we curse human beings, who have been made in God’s likeness.?10?Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.?11?Can both fresh water and salt water flow from the same spring??12?My brothers and sisters, can a fig tree bear olives, or a grapevine bear figs??Neither can a salt spring produce fresh water.13?Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it?by their good life, by deeds?done in the humility that comes from wisdom.14?But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition?in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth.?15?Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven?but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic.?16?For where you have envy and selfish ambition,?there you find disorder and every evil practice.?17?But the wisdom that comes from heaven?is first of all pure; then peace-loving,?considerate, submissive, full of mercy?and good fruit, impartial and sincere.?18?Peacemakers?who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.

20?“I do not pray for these alone, but also for those who?[j]will believe in Me through their word;?21?that they all may be one, as?You, Father,?arein Me, and I in You; that they also may be one in Us, that the world may believe that You sent Me.?22?And the?glory which You gave Me I have given them,?that they may be one just as We are one:?23?I in them, and You in Me;?that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and have loved them as You have loved Me.?24?“Father, I desire that they also whom You gave Me may be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory which You have given Me;for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.?25?O righteous Father!?The world has not known You, but?I have known You; and?these have known that You sent Me.?26?And I have declared to them Your name, and will declare?it,?that the love?with which You loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

John 16:
