Watch What You Like

Some have suggested not scrolling through the feed. It is a good place to start since beloved connections who post frequently usually lead off a session. The further you go, the more of the soft white underbelly of this site pokes through.

Some who like many statuses bring political nonsense to the feed. They can have views. They do not need to be spread on a business site. I worked for a guy who made fun of Nancy Pelosi and Chuck Schumer.

He had other good points and the position ended for different reasons. When someone on this site berates politicians in memes; they had better have something good to offset the bad vibes they spread.

A man I did not recognize liked a post about animal mutilation. I did not stay long enough to see what the point was. Seeing dogs with missing limbs made me wonder why I was connected to this person. I did not recognize his name and do not miss him now that we have disconnected.

If the first time I see your name in the feed and your contribution is violence towards animals there is nothing more to say Even if this were an anti violence ad? I cannot hear a Sarah Machlaclan song without thinking of starving dogs in freezing temperatures.

Marketers might say "If you remember it then it was effective". I remember the Vietnamese man shooting another point blank in that award winning photo. I never want to see it again. What you like or comment on goes throughout the network.

If a connection of yours is hired and you say "Congratulations" the network may not know the long, arduous journey that connection made to land a new position. They will understand it and scroll to the next post.

When there are atrocities- what value are you bringing? Is it going to stop violence towards animals? Probably not. Every move you make on this site reflects on your perception to others. Make it a good one.

Meaningful comments and positive statements mean more than showing images of violence. Put your best foot forward and do not burn bridges. The good has to outweigh the bad in any relationship. If there is more bad than good there is no future to that union.

I like the occasionally political post, but not too often. Still, where as politics was closing down a main bridge between our two countries and gridlocking our capital and shutting down businesses; politics has everything to do with business. Still, it is impossible to have a conversation about politics any more, unless it is with someone who is gonna agree with everything you say. Too bad, as I grew up hearing my elders debate politics good naturedly with each other, and I learned a lot from listening to them. Today's kids are not learning that kind of lesson. What lesson are we teaching them?
