WASNJ｜The First Prefect Induction Ceremony

The new semester has been kicked off with the recent Prefect Induction Ceremony at WASNJ.?This landmark ceremony served to acknowledge and celebrate the invaluable contributions of the newly selected Prefects and their appointment to leadership positions within the school community.

The build-up to the selection of the Prefects was rigorous and gave students the opportunity to formally apply for the positions and go through an interview phase that demonstrated their leadership skills, academic excellence, and passion for serving their school and its community.?After careful consideration, the school leadership team chose students that had met and exceeded these expectations.

Our first-ever Prefects were introduced by our Deputy Head – Pastoral, and inducted by our Executive Head, Dr. Silverwood.?Our Prefects signed a 10-point contract with WASNJ as part of their induction and were warmly welcomed by our WASNJ community.

The newly appointed Prefects will be identified throughout the school by their special ties, which mark them as role models for their fellow students.?They also have a designated office space that act as physical evidence of their important roles in the school leadership structure.

As the leaders of the student body, the Prefects will have a varied range of responsibilities that includes mentoring their fellow pupils, assisting with school events, and representing their peers through the school council.?All of this will be done while upholding the values that are the foundation of the school community.

The Prefect Induction Ceremony was a memorable occasion and a proud moment for the entire school community.?We are confident that the newly appointed Prefects will serve as excellent role models to their fellow students, representing the school with pride, and upholding its core values.
