WASHZ | Our Pupils Triumph on the Slopes of Beidahu

Nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of China's Jilin Province lies Beidahu, a hidden gem renowned for its majestic mountains and world-class skiing opportunities.?

Recently, our school embarked on an exhilarating journey to this winter wonderland. Our successful school ski trip to Beidahu was an unforgettable educational adventure that left memories in?the hearts and minds of all who participated.?

At the heart of our school's ethos is the belief in the power of experiential learning. The ski trip to Beidahu was not just about leisure; it was an opportunity for our students to challenge themselves, build resilience, and foster camaraderie.

Day 1

Our journey began with anticipation and excitement, as we departed the school, ready to conquer the?slopes and embrace the thrill of skiing.?

We arrived at the hotel, checked into our rooms and gathered our ski equipment ready of the adventure that remained one sleep away.

Day 2

The next day, they strapped on their skis and headed out onto?the slopes. Guided by experienced instructors, our pupils?honed their skiing skills, learned about mountain safety, and gained a deeper appreciation for the natural world.?

For many, it was their first time skiing. However it wasn’t long before they were all skiing down the mountain with ever increasing confidence.?

During the days that followed,?the?pupils discovered new strengths within themselves?and created new friendships and memories.

Day 3

On day three, we headed for the Jilin city to learn more about the local culture. We went to a wonderful museum and saw the Jilin meteorite,? the largest stone meteorite on earth, which fell to earth in 1976.?

We had the opportunity to try local hot pot, before heading out onto an icy lake to experience ice fishing and play some games.?

Then it was back to Beidahou for a good rest before more days on the slopes!

As our school ski trip drew to a close, there was a palpable sense of achievement in the air. Students who had never set foot on skis before were now gliding down the slopes with confidence. But beyond the physical accomplishments, the trip was a testament to the resilience, teamwork, and spirit of adventure that define our school community.?

The memories we created will endure for a lifetime. From the exhilarating rush of racing down the mountainside to the quiet moments of reflection amid nature's grandeur, each experience has left an indelible mark on the lives of our pupils.
