WASHK｜A Successful Open Morning Showcasing WASHK

On Saturday 18 February 2023, we held our Open Morning on our campus.?It was the first physical Open Morning we have held since the school opened in 2019.?It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome new and interested members of the community.?

The half-day event featured a range of activities, interactive demonstrations and information sessions to showcase the work of our academic team and the resources available in our school.

Guests arrived as early as 9:50am, most of them brought their children to participate in the event.?

The Open Morning kicked off at 10:00 am by our Senior Choir who performed two special pieces of music.?Parents were delighted with the quality and professionalism of the performance.?

Our Headmaster, Mr. Tuckett, then gave a welcome speech in which he briefly introduced the school and its ethos to parents.

Parents were then able to explore the campus and facilities, including our 14m high climbing wall, classrooms, library, rooftop and the state-of-the-art equipment and tools in action.?

The interactive displays of the iSTEAM, Art, Music and Intensive English Programme were a highlight, especially the sports activities on our rooftop, which many children participated in.?Teachers were present in each classroom, and ready to answer parents' questions about the school and its educational approach.

Parents and children had the opportunity to experience a typical school day.?They saw our students' work on display and learned more about our extra-curricular activities.

Many parents inquired about how we prepare students for their applications to top boarding schools.?We are so proud of our recent graduates who have received offers to school such as Wycombe Abbey UK, Rugby, Cheltenham Ladies College and Roedean.?

Some of our students have even?won the schools' scholarships?(e.g. Sherborne Girls School), which are extremely competitive and only a few are ever awarded.?

From the choir performance to the interactive conservation and activities, the Open Morning showcased the high-quality facilities and teaching at Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong.?Parents appreciated the hands-on and collaborative approach to learning, as well as the use of technology and multimedia to enhance teaching. Many parents commented on how enthusiastic and knowledgeable the teachers were.

Overall, the Open Morning was a success, running from 10:00am to 12:30pm.?Parents were extremely pleased with the facilities, resources, curriculum and support programmes at Wycombe Abbey School Hong Kong.?

The Open Morning and the varied experiences gave parents confidence that the school would provide a supportive, excellent environment and education for their children.?These hands-on experiences allowed parents to learn in a fun and memorable way. Parents left with plenty of information and an enthusiasm for the school.

The Open Morning was a great success and we look forward to hosting more similar events in the near future!
