Washed Ashore - Look Who Joined Our Art Collection
In January 2021, LAER Realty Partners launched the LAER Art Collection, slowly nourishing our offices with hand-selected paintings purchased through ArtLifting. Our goal is to add one piece a month to our collection.
About Our Newest Addition
Our newest piece is called Washed Ashore by Ann DesRoches. The painting features a lonely boat tethered to the shore. You can almost feel yourself sitting in the sand, listening to the lapping waves and joyful seagulls playing in the water.
About the Artist
Ann DesRoches, is a resident of Cape Cod, known locally as the "Cape Cod Colorful Artist.” She received a fine arts degree at Greenfield Community College and furthered her studies at Massachusetts College Of Art in Boston, Massachusetts. In 1989, she suffered a ruptured brain aneurysm just before her wedding. Undaunted by these events, she married and built a family. She has three children, two of which are on the Autism Spectrum.
The process of working to regain her artistic skills and adapt her artistic style in addition to raising two children on the autism spectrum alone gave Ann a unique perspective on living with a disability. This experience deeply affected her understanding of the art process. Ann enjoys utilizing her creative skills to paint landscapes and flowers from her seaside home. She also created a series of artwork work reflecting the experiences of her sons living with autism.
Where Washed Ashore will reside
Our newest piece will reside in the LAER Falmouth office, not far from where the piece was inspired. Please stop by our Falmouth office anytime if you are interested in seeing this work or that of two other Ann DesRoches pieces, Hibiscus or Reverie.

About ArtLifting
ArtLifting is a platform for artists that have traditionally been underrepresented in the contemporary art market. Each artist has a unique perspective, style, and story based on the diversity of their lived experiences, artistic talents, and innovative processes. The powerful combination of their artwork and stories inspire communities and drive social change.
Why We Buy Our Pieces Through ArtLifting
We love ArtLifting because these beautiful pieces bring additional good energy and life to our LAER work and meeting spaces. When we buy our pieces, we specifically select artists who live and work in the regions we do business in.
Our Selection Process
We select pieces that fit with the aesthetics of each individual office. Our coastal offices have coastal pieces while our urban or city offices have modern pieces that fit with the culture of the offices and communities within which the pieces will live. You can visit our current collection at www.LAERRealty.com/art.
