Coffee Morning with Ms Hany,
Head of Lower School/ 咖啡早茶会
The Coffee Morning is a regular parental engagement initiative carefully organized by Ms Hany, the Head of Lower School at WASCZ. Its purpose is to facilitate direct communication with parents and share valuable educational insights.
With over two decades of extensive teaching experience, Ms Hany has held significant roles as a headmaster and in senior leadership positions in various countries, including the UK. ?Her husband is currently serving as the Head of English and a Grade 4 Form Tutor?in Lower School and her son is currently a Grade 9 student at WASCZ.?As a result, she possesses a unique understanding of the challenges and rewards that students may encounter throughout their educational journey.
During the previous coffee morning, Ms Hany, the Head of Lower School, engaged in discussions with parents on the importance of instilling robust reading habits in children from a young age.
This month, we are excited to announce the upcoming second coffee morning, scheduled for Saturday, 13 April. Ms Hany cordially invites all parents to join her for a delightful session over coffee, accompanied by Ms Vornicu, the Head of Speech and Drama at WASCZ.
In Western cultures, children often embark on their journey through Shakespearean literature in kindergarten, akin to our own children's early exposure to classical Chinese poetry.
The essence of drama education extends beyond the realm of acting; it encompasses invaluable lessons in problem-solving and teamwork, empowering children to gain profound insights into the world around them, foster robust personalities, and hone effective learning strategies. Through dynamic expressions utilizing body language, facial cues, and linguistic articulation, children lay the groundwork for comprehensive thinking and linguistic fluency.

Moreover, English drama serves as a captivating avenue for enhancing language proficiency, spanning listening, speaking, reading, writing, and public speaking skills in an engaging and interactive manner.
Furthermore, Ms Vornicu will introduce parents to the esteemed drama examination program offered by the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA), facilitating the setting of well-suited objectives for children's educational pursuits in the field of drama.
Parental engagement stands as a cornerstone in facilitating children's learning journeys. Through a concerted partnership between home and school, we aspire to provide unwavering support for our students' growth and development. With the coffee morning poised to serve as both an informational hub and a platform for fostering community ties, we eagerly anticipate the collective effort in shaping a brighter future for our children. We extend a warm invitation to parents?both within and outside the school, to participate in this enriching event!
