WASC's Innovative Approach to Global Collaboration and Personalized Support

In January 2024, Dawn Rock, an ACS WASC International Consultant, shared her insights into the ways in which WASC Accreditation empowers schools through personalized support. This month, we continue the theme of personalized support sharing ways in which WASC promotes collaboration and engagement amongst its global partners.

In August 2021, WASC soft-launched a platform for community engagement through the sharing of resources, promoting of WASC-led events, and launching discussion-topics for interested parties. WASC would like to take this opportunity to thank those involved in the soft launch for their engagement and valuable feedback. As our network of international schools continues to expand, WASC is actively seeking and developing opportunities to personalize its support, catering to international schools new to accreditation and schools whose partnership with WASC accreditation extends over 6 decades. ?

In September 2023, Dr. Margaret Alvarez, Vice President of International Accreditation, hosted a Fireside Chat with Dr. Matt Harris, Founder and CEO of Childsafeguarding.com. WASC facilitated the opportunity for participants to continue conversations by subscribing to the WASC Child Protection Community platform, via Basecamp. Similarly, following a Fireside Chat on School Branding and Reputation between Dr. Alvarez and Dr. Stephen Holmes, Principal and Founder of 5Rs Partnership, the WASC School Branding Community was established.

Our next Fireside Chat on March 11, 2024 will provide a AI-focussed panel discussion between David Chadwell, Associate Head of School of Teaching and Learning at Saigon South International School and Dr. Rolly Alfonso-Maiquez, Director of Educational Technology and Innovation of VERSO International School.
