Warrior Leadership Program - Story
A PAST STORY..
In past cultures around the world, when a child comes of age, he needs to go out into the wilderness to learn what he needs to, so that he can come back as a man. He does this so that he can contribute to the tribe in a manner that makes him responsible for keeping the tribe sustainable. This sustainability ensures the future of the tribe and transfers the wisdom of the elders into the youth. When the child sets off on this, coming of age journey, his father, unbeknown to the child, follows him through the wilderness and keeps a watchful eye over his safety. When the child returns, he finds his family all there and translates his experiences to his audience that is already aware of his achievements, but acknowledges them as if it were the first they heard of them. The child possesses his own experiences and they can now be advanced to maturity by utilising them everyday along with his father and other tribal members. His own life has purpose and he knows who he is and what value he has to offer.
A MODERN VERSION..
When a child comes of age, they are legally required to go through a linear process of education that involves outsiders giving instruction in a mass environment that does not allow for individual personal creative progress. This environment is awarded with merits of achievement according to a scale that predetermines what use you will have and what you should hold as moral and valuable to a society that you are not yet involved in. When the child has finished this linear process, they have no where to use the majority of information learnt and don’t have enough information on what does have value and no information on what they are actually going to face. The child has been educated out of their own personal creativity, they cant identify where to add value realistically and don’t know how to be themselves for fear of rejection. No one knows their story and everyone feels intimidated. We spend our emotional equity trying to fix what we think is broken, but actually is just underdeveloped.
Is there a way to develop this, lets have that conversation,
