Warren's Attack on TPP is Unwarranted.

Warren's attack on arbitration provisions (Investor-State Dispute Settlement -- ISDS provisions) in TPP is bizarre. We already have such a process essentially within the WTO for 20 yrs. for states This allows foreign investors a neutral and umbiased forum rather than just the host-state judiciary. It gives standing to firms to bring actions directly in a specialized international forum.
These provisions avoid dragging in another country to an essentially commercial dispute. It helps reduce needless political strife between countries over commercial issues. We have a long history of these under the World Bank and Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs).
This is a significant advancement in global governance over trade and investment issues and disputes, away from all too often biased national and nationalistic decisions.
