A Warm Caring Smile

When was the last time you grinned at a stranger? In the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, we often get so focused on what’s going on with us, that we forget to pay attention to those around us.
While these days we smile behind a mask most of the time, people can still “see” it in your eyes. And you can smile at people through car windows, on Zoom calls, neighbors across the street when you’re both outside. Some of us are even blessed enough, this time of year, go to the park and outdoor areas where a mask is not necessary.
A friend of mine shared about a bulletin board for a pizza place in her town. It has their cartoon mascot wearing a mask, running with a pizza box, with a caption that says "Served with a Smize! (smiling with our eyes!)."
So remember to look up, notice the people around you, and smile. Below is a video on why simply smiling at someone may make all the difference.
As you work to smile at others in your daily life this week, notice how they respond. Did your warm, caring smile make a difference for them? Were you able to strike up a conversation and learn what was really going on with that person? I’d love to hear your stories of how a simple grin lit up someone’s world this week!
Warmly,
Georgia
P.S. May you be blessed in 2021
