?War through children's eyes?: an exhibition of paintings in Kriviy Rih
Charitable organization ?Children-Victims of the War?
The non-profit organization was created in 2015 to help children and disabled people affected by the war in Ukraine
Most of all, this war affected our children's mental health. Sometimes they cannot express their feelings through words, so they do it through pictures.
Project directors Andrii Drobot and Peter Novak visited the exhibition of paintings at the children's art center ?Children of the War?.
?We are happy to work with children, discover and reveal their abilities. It is very cool to live, develop and enjoy your work. It's inspiring,? one of the founders, Anastasiia, told us.
She and Ilona founded this workshop in Kryvyi Rih 7 years ago. After the war children started to paint pictures, after which you will feel devastated.
Children from 6 to 17 years old draw Ukrainian symbols, sunflowers, our heroes, and military equipment. All the plots make you feel sad inside.
In one of the paintings, we can see a rocket flying to Ukraine. But some creature is holding it, and the rocket is hanging over our land. This creature looks very scary, but exactly it is stopping the tragedy that could happen. This creature has a good heart, even if it looks creepy.
There is also a picture with the kremlin on fire, which Anastasiia drew while she was in negative emotions due to russian aggression. She summarized all her experiences into a dream, which she transferred to the canvas.
We thank Ilona and Anastiia for their work and warm welcome. We will definitely visit this art center again!
