Wanting something so bad, that that is exactly what we get....

We have all witnessed this in ourselves, haven't we?--that in our desire to see a certain result we cut corners, ignore facts, and see what we want to see because we want it so bad....

It is useful to have a dispassionate expert design a process to discover the facts and to build on them; but too often we want to cut directly to the result--the result we want. The flaw in this is self-evident, but it is so hard to control these impulses in ourselves, is it not?
