Have you noticed your people starting to get a bit frazzled?
That there are a bit more overwhelmed than normal and they're starting to really feel a pinch of as we move towards the end of the year?
You're not alone.
This is quite common in teams, and it's quite common with the rapid pace of life and business that people start to feel like they can't get it all done.
How can you support that as a leader?
First - Culture is key.
Having a great culture, a team culture where people support each other, build each other up, and help each other out is critical for helping people bear the load and handle the burden.
Second - How can you help people chunk it down and eat it like an elephant?
Maybe it's a bit of looking at a time study of their work, where they take notes on every 30 minute increment of where their time is going and how they're spending it.
Then draw up two columns and in one of them write the things they love doing, that are easy and in flow.

Then in the second column write the things they lose, the things that drain their energy, that are hard to do, that pull them down.
Have them really think about how can they do those, bring them to the team and let the team look at whether any of that can be delegated or outsourced.
Is there anything there that we don't even need to do anymore?
Are there ways where someone's sweet spot is someone else's pain, and can they do a bit of swap?
This is where we don't want to be rigid on our position descriptions and who does what and who's accountability that is.
We want to start being in flow and working as a team.
We don't want a team of just all stars running their own race, we want a true team where everyone pulls together.
