Want to rank better on Google Search? Try with Voice Search!
If you are a small business owner or have an eCommerce store, take this advice and be one step ahead of your competition!
Today I’m going to give you a tip about SEO – Search Engine Optimization and how to improve it. How to improve your rankings on Google search and other search engines. One of the tactics that you could possibly do, and I strongly recommend it, is related to the BLOG. I recommend that you have a blog on the MENU of your website home page. There, you should post regular articles about the field of work that you are covering. And, within it, you should use KEYWORDS that are related to your type of business and, by which, your targeted clientele will find you. The next reason why the blog is so important is related to the BACKLINKING and INTERNAL LINKING. So, what’s internal linking? Once you write a post within a blog you can provide a link to the other part of your website. For example, you're writing about your services or products in that article and you might say “If you want to know more about this, please click the link below.” or “If you want to contact us, click the link below”. So, that’s called internal linking. That’s a link within your website. Backlinking is when somebody else is linking your website within their articles or their posts. So, that’s called backlinking. Believe it or not, that will improve your SEO.
Video and Voice Search in SEO
Just as the WRITTEN CONTENT is moving towards VIDEO CONTENT, as one of the major marketing and overall business trends. In the same way, WRITTEN SEARCH is moving towards VOICE SEARCH. So, if you implement voice search as part of your SEO strategy today, you are going to be ahead of your competition. Ahead of anybody else who hasn’t done that already. This will improve your rankings on search engines.
Did you know that already 41% of adults and 55% of teens are using voice search daily? Over a billion voice searches happened in 2018. By 2020, 50% of all searches could be voice searches. (Source: https://econsultancy.com/the-future-of-voice-search-2020-and-beyond/). Also,

Research and Optimization
Start with research on keywords
Keywords have always been crucial to SEO. However, the keywords for voice SEO are not always the same. There is a difference between the WRITTEN SEARCH and the VOICE SEARCH. The biggest difference is the length of the query. Voice searches are 76.1% longer than text-based searches. For voice search optimization you’ll need to utilize long-tail keywords. Most people use short queries of 3-5 words with text searches. With digital assistants longer natural questions are often queried. When we use written search, we type shorter and concise words and terms. On the other side, when we use voice search, we use sentences and long-tail words. For example, we might say something like “Where can I find a restaurant open 24h a day?” So, this is the whole sentence. But if we would be typing this search request, then we might type something like “restaurant open 24h”. By the way, 54% of people reported they used their voice search to find the restaurant. Pay attention to this while you are incorporating voice search as a part of your SEO strategy.
Now that you know all this, the next step should be OPTIMIZING YOUR WEBSITE CONTENT FOR THE VOICE SEARCH.
Create an FAQ page for your site
By adding FAQ (Frequently Asked Questions) to your website content, you’ll improve voice search results for your company. Prior to doing that, conduct research on Google about frequently asked questions about your industry or products/services you are selling or offering online. Pay attention to a “featured snippets”. These are the boxes in which Google offers suggestions as a search result.
Optimize for Local Search
Update Your Local Listing and Develop Your “Google My Business”.
Optimizing for Mobile Voice Searches
We already know that over half of search queries are coming from mobile devices, and Google has found that 20% of mobile searches are voice searches. These numbers are likely to grow, so solid mobile optimization is of key importance for incorporating voice search into your overall strategy.
There are a few basics that you need to ensure you’re achieving to achieve proper mobile optimization.
- All resources on your site should be crawlable.
- Reviews are important to rank for the best of searches.
- Focus on local content. Local queries are three times more likely on mobile devices than standard desktops.
- Be hyperlocal with title tags and meta descriptions.
- Ensure your site has a responsive mobile-friendly design.
