I've just finished a social media audit with a fabulous nonprofit and was inspired to share some juice tips?that may also tick some boxes for all of you.
1. Picture this:
Imagine a treasure trove of photos, all categorised and ready to make your socials pop.?I recommend every organisation build - a photo library!
Gather all those past event pics, raid your staff's phones, and organise them into one glorious folder. Then sort them into categories that you use a lot on social. For me I have folders like speaking, events, professional headshots, with celebrities, etc. For this client it would be travel, food, wine, students, etc.
To make it even better, then make a wish list of the shots you're missing that you wish you had and get a photographer (or your most talented team member) to snap 'em.
It will save you a lot of time and improve your photo game - especially on Instagram.?
2. Boosting is for amateurs:
Don't just throw money at boosting posts on Facebook and Instagram. It's like trying to?fill your water bottle with a firehose. Sure, you'll eventually get it filled but you waste a lot of precious water (aka money) in the meanwhile.?
Instead, buy ads through Meta Ads Manager and unlock a world of targeting options. Think laser-focused precision, hitting the exact audience you want.
3. Mix it up like your favourite cocktail:
Your socials shouldn't be a one-trick pony - particularly if that trick is trying to promote your stuff.
Keep your audience engaged with a constant mix of content. Some posts should be?purely designed to get them to engage,?while others?should be designed to deliver bucket loads of value to reward your community.?
4. Platforms with purpose:
Each platform has its own unique vibe and audience. Make sure you can summarise in a sentence or two what each of your platforms do for your marketing strategy.
For my client today, LinkedIn?was the perfect?stage to showcase corporate training to businesses, while Instagram is their playground to connect with younger students and share eye-catching visuals.
That's it for now!
Go forth and conquer those socials,
Alecia
