Want to manage your time efficiently? Check out these simple tips.

There's one thing you need more than anything else to be successful as an entrepreneur or business owner.?

Even if you have the best business idea, it won't work if you don't manage it well enough to get your ideas off the ground and keep it going.?

Managing time as a business owner or executive is challenging, especially if you juggle work, personal, and family responsibilities.

Since I started supporting executives and business owners, I can tell you that time management is of the essence in achieving productivity.

Stay with me as we dive into ways you can effectively manage your time to increase productivity, strike a balance, and still find time for friends and family.

Stay focused on one task

Tips for Managing Your Time

Here are a few tips to consider. But, of course, you can still opt for other fantastic tips that aren't listed here if they work for you.

  • Start early in the day: One of my favorite time-management tips is to start working earlier in the day. I've noticed that tackling challenging problems in the morning helps me focus throughout my workday. Of course, it's just one of many small shifts you can make to improve your efficiency as an entrepreneur. But, honestly, it may be the most effective.

  • Delegate less-fun tasks: This will help you find more time in your day to do more productive things. In addition, letting others help you with jobs that they are good at will free up time in your calendar.?

  • Normalize asking for help, especially when you are struggling in your business. You can consider inviting another entrepreneur over for coffee and bouncing your ideas off. You never know what new insight they might have that could keep you on track.

  • Don't be afraid to say no: Protecting your mental health is essential. It helps you bring your best to everything that matters to you.?

  • Automate tasks: This will help reduce the time spent on routine tasks. The truth is that spending less time on tedious everyday tasks means more availability to plan, strategize, and market your business. Plus, it's one less thing you'll have to do in a day.

  • Prioritize your tasks: Create to-do lists and schedules based on your priorities. Start with the critical tasks that benefit you and your business financially or personally. Please ensure these tasks are at the top of your list.

  • Turn off notifications: This is hard, with everyone connected on different platforms. To achieve this, set specific blocks of time to tackle certain projects, avoid interruptions by turning off all notifications (email, phone, etc.), and focus on one task at a time.?

Don't allow work overwhelm you, when you can delegate and automate.

  • Avoid switching tasks frequently; It can make you feel like you're not accomplishing much, so stick to finishing every job before switching.?

  • Use tools to stay productive: Every minute counts when trying to stay productive. Hootsuite or Buffer is one tool that can help you stay productive throughout the day. It can schedule social media posts, monitor social media posts, track post conversations, etc.?

  • Take breaks: This can't be overemphasized, especially with stress-related sickness on a daily increase. Research has shown that taking breaks from work helps boost your productivity and creativity, improve your energy levels, and make you more efficient when you return to work.

  • Prioritizing what you choose to open and read: The idea is simple: if you're not going to respond immediately, don't waste time in the first place.

Asking for help isn't a sign of weakness

  • Avoid distractions: Temptation lurks around every corner, so try setting daily reminders to stay focused on your task.

  • Break large projects into parts: It will help you better understand how long each step will take and where potential issues may arise. You can also use software tools to help with these organizational tasks. For example, many professionals are turning to products like Trello and Asana to track projects, assign tasks, and get a quick view of upcoming deadlines.

  • Organize tasks in order of urgency: Another favorite tip: if you do nothing else, take a few minutes every morning to list out your daily tasks in order of urgency. It helps you know what needs immediate attention and what can wait until later.

  • Be realistic about how much you can get done. Start planning your week in advance, considering everything you have to do and the deadlines. Most people can't complete over 40 hours of work per week, so try not to overload yourself with more than that.

Time management is of essence.

Finally, it's easy to overestimate what you can do in a day. But the truth is, "you can't get through so much work each day without help," so it's essential to set realistic goals and expectations for yourself.?

“Remember: there are 24 hours in a day, but only 16 of them are truly working hours.”

Here are some things I can assist with; social media management, content creation; administrative tasks (email and calendar management; travel research and booking, data entry, etc), customer service, and web content writing, among other things; if this sounds like what you need help with or are unsure about, DM or book a one-on-one session with me here.
