Want to learn more about oneAPI ?

October 26-27-28 offers unique opportunities to learn more about oneAPI, from experts, at the Intel Innovation/oneAPI Dev Fest.

Register now!

The line-up on October 26 is led off by a trio of talks that offer complementary perspectives on the open, multivendor, and multiarchitecture aspirations and realities of oneAPI. These three talks will whet your appetite for the additional technical deep-dive talks that follow later that day, and in the following days.?Michael Wong, the second talk in the trio, will share that while huge progress has been made in building the largest open ecosystem for heterogeneous computing, everyone can help us to build and harness an open ecosystem for AI and HPC programming using SYCL and oneAPI.

complementary talks about the value of open, multivendor, multiarchitecture approaches - like oneAPI and SYCL

You can view the entire line-up, and register, at the oneAPI DevFest page.?If you are a software developer, be sure to check the “Yes, I would like to attend oneAPI DevFest” box during registration.

October 27-28 with Intel CEO, Intel CTO, and numerous experts

Pat Gelsinger shared thoughts recently, on Intel’s ‘Software First’ including oneAPI, in interviews found in Tom’s Hardware (Pat Gelsinger Says Silicon Without Software Support Is a Bug) and CRN (Pat Gelsinger: Intel Will Be ‘More Ecosystem-Friendly’ Than Nvidia).

I cannot reveal what Pat Gelsinger, Greg Lavender, and others will say on October 27-28, but it is a rich collection of talks that I highly recommend tuning into.

Promises to keep, and miles to go - oneAPI is an attitude, a joy, and a journey

For my part, I’m helping a number of the presenters and I’ll lead a lab session late in the day (October 26) for those looking to experience SYCL firsthand.?I’m also co-teaching at CPPCON, a three day class on SYCL, on November 1-2-3.?Later in November, I’m helping with the SYCL BoF at SC21.?For all of these, you can get a leg up by reading our SYCL book. It's my tenth book, and given it's 411K+ downloads in under a year, it is one of the most popular books with which I've had the fortune to contribute.

There is no question that Intel oneAPI implementations are showing value on CPUs, value for FPGAs, and value on Intel integrated GPUs. Other ports of oneAPI components have shown value on ARM, NVIDIA, AMD, and Huawei.?These highlight building momentum in favor of open, multivendor, and multiarchitecture support that delivers useful, reliable, and trustworthy performance. Of course, we are all anxious to see oneAPI on Intel? Xe GPUs that will help power future supercomputers emerging in 2022.?Lots of exciting results already – and, recalling the words of Robert Frost: I have promises to keep, and miles to go before I sleep.

oneAPI is an attitude, a joy, and a journey - to help all software developers.?Check out my “XPU blog” series.

I hope I’ll see (virtually still) many of you, and have a chance to chat, at Intel InnovatiON/oneAPI DevFest, CPPCON, and SC21.
