Want to learn the art and power of silence?

I was a super talkative kid. I am the only child of my parents, and both of my parents worked for Indian Railways.

So, my childhood was quiet and lonely. When people grow older either they fall in love with quietness, or they hate it after spending a lonely childhood.

Writing my daily journals helped me to unload my emotions. Writing one page a day gave me that strength to let my negative emotions go.

Talking to the right people helped. Everyone is busy but if you can find your best friends who are ready to listen to you no matter how busy they are, then you are a blessed one.

Silence is a powerful weapon. You don’t need to scream and verbally abuse everyone. If someone is hurting you, remember that saying anything is useless.

People who value you, will stay with you always. Their presence and support are enough for you to feel safe.

Silence gave me clarity of thoughts. Made me feel strong and brave with my own emotions. Silence taught me to feel every emotion.

Epictetus, a Greek philosopher said that we are meant to listen more because we are blessed with two ears and speak less with one mouth. That hit me hard.

When you talk more, you are no longer interesting to others. People lose interest in you. Your observation also loses it’s focus.

When you talk less, you save energy and mental bandwidth. Again, this is a blessing for you.

Last but not the least, silence brings mindfulness in you. Do you agree with me?

Lastly, wishing you all Happy Ganesh Chaturthi. May Lord Ganesh bless you all with happiness and prosperity.
