The Growing Need to Keep Track of Legislation Changes
In his role of curating and aggregating information about the food and beverage industry, Nevin has been seeing more and more companies focusing their attention on legislation, more specifically on being on top of any changes that happen, which are plentiful in the food and beverage world.
He believes this is happening because, at the end of the day, legislation is what can help make the biggest change. The important discussions are being held around legislation, and there’s a lot of knowledge that can be gained by looking into both sides: the proponents and the opposition.
It is very important to keep up with these legislation changes because they can directly and profoundly impact businesses and consumers, whether they’re at the federal, state, or local levels.

The Reason Why Trying to Keep Track of Legislation By Yourself is So Difficult
To track legislation changes, you have to talk to a lot of people and pull information from a lot of different sources.
Well, that’s the easy part. The difficult part comes when you need to put it all together and make sense of it.?
This second step is probably the most complicated part of trying to keep up with legislation because regulations are just that, very complicated. They sometimes end up being a nightmare to understand, even for seasoned food safety professionals like Matt and me. Can you imagine how much more complicated it is for the ones who ensure the adoption of necessary changes, from those in the C-suite to those on the floor, to make sense of it all?
Another problematic factor is that you’ll most likely have to wade through multiple pieces of information about the same legislation and figure out which one is the most up-to-date and complete, which is not an easy feat for someone who doesn’t have lots of experience with it.
An Easier Solution
If you’re thinking, “There’s got to be an easier way to do this.” then you’re correct.
In response to the high demand for information on the constant legislation changes, Nevin’s company recently launched an incredible tool, the Legislation Monitor.
It consists of a must-have weekly report that provides business leaders with accurate, up-to-date information on legislative developments – what’s new, what’s pending, and what analysts are saying about it – at the federal and state levels across a variety of relevant industries in real time.
They pull information from different sources and then curate it so you can focus only on what will truly make a difference for your business.
They’re also aware of how difficult it is to understand legislation if you’re not a legislative analyst, so the reports are written with business in mind and free of technical jargon. This ensures that users can quickly grasp essential information to make the best, most informed business decisions and stay ahead of changing regulations.
Lastly, you won’t find repeated information. When they gather all the data, and the same thing comes up many times, they go through the pieces of information and pick the one that has the most up-to-date and complete information and highlight it in the report. The interesting feature here is that you can also go through the other pieces of information on the same topic to see how the legislation developed over time.

1 周Sounds like a very helpful and temporally à propos service…does it only cover legislative changes…or “executive orders” as well? Federal and state?
