Want Justice for Adnan Tasin

I couldn't keep my eye drop after read this, Please share it for justice ....... https://www.facebook.com/WantJusticeForAdnan

When I read this, I asked myself, “Is it true that powerless people don’t have the right to get Justice in Bangladesh?” – It remained unanswered till today. I request you too share to globalnetizens and all good citizens around you & their network.

Request you to spare a few precious minutes to read this article based on a true incident and the tragic trail it has left to his father, the lone soldier so far. Nobel laureate Rabindranath Tagore rightly said in his poem “Bichar er bani, nirobe nibhrete kaande” (The justice undelivered cries alone and silent).

This true story is about a young, brilliant, honest & ever smiling guy, with dreams in his eyes. Innocent Adnan Tasin (17 years), a promising & budding star of future Bangladesh. Like your children and/or siblings, he also nurtured a dream to grow & build a career for him and his country through excellence in education, science & technology, sports and social welfare. He was sailing through the course well with flying colours. And then he met the ultimate abrupt end. On 11th February 2019 he was on his way back from St.Joseph College in Dhaka, the capital city of Bangladesh to his home. While on a zebra-crossing to get to the other side of the road close to his home, a speeding bus thrashed &thrown him a few meters away. Then instead of stopping, the driver of the bus in a careless manner mopped him by running over his laden body on the road. You can find the point of this incidence in google map here.

Earlier there was a foot over bridge. City administration took it away without any alternative like aspeed breaker or deployment of traffic police or even atraffic signal. It was as if like a death trap created deliberately on a high-speed highway.

One of Pedestrian took him to the nearest Kurmitola hospital & after spending 1 hour, they referred him to Dhaka Medical college without even primary treatment or did nothing to save his life. Apparently their silent and unwritten protocol is not to admit patients of road accident to avoid police case or other issues though this is government hospital.

The whole world knows Dhaka for one thing. It is one of the worst in the world for notorious traffic jam. Due to huge traffic jam at Banani area through which he should have been taken to the referred hospital, he sighs for the last time helplessly for life. And he was gone If Kurmitola hospital could provide him treatment then probably he would have been alive (even if in crippled condition).

Today till 1st January 2020,after 325++ days, nobody from his former school (Baridhara, BSI) or from his college ( St.Joseph Higher Secondary, Mohammodpur ) come forward to raise their voice, to make a procession against the M**der of their friend or any kind of solidarity. He studied in Baridhara -BSI school from Nursery to SSC spending 13 years in this premise. As a human, it was expected that at least Tasin’s school mates, his respected teachers would come forward for the justice against the premature death caused by the reckless driving of the driver but nobody did that and even they didn’t come to express their sympathy or to console Tasin’s parents. What ethical values are we learning from our school or college? What we are getting in return from our society that teaches us to be civilised? Where is our humanity? Where is the voice of our so-called civilized people? Or do we start to build this kind of habit as part of life and live quietly every day.Today Tasin has been killed, tomorrow it will be the turn of another Tasin & bit will go on. And the same way everyone will remain silent, the killer will go scot free & remain reckless due to this kind of (in)action. Tasin did not get justice because his School & college (Student, Teacher, governing body, Guardian) has shown zero protest against this deliberate M**der by a bunch of people (from the driver to the government hospital and even his school friends and others). Till date none of them raised voice against his M**der. The driver went unpunished without even a scratch, the owner took control of the killer vehicle & it still plies the road of Dhaka without even closing the eyelids for a moment for the cruel incident committed.

A lone battle for justice has been launched by his father. But he has been hitting the wall every now and then. What else he could do as a normal citizen of Bangladesh with no connection with police, politician, businessman or so-called powerful lobby in Bangladesh?

He works in garment industry, earns a mediocre salary of $250 a month, physically weak with a family to run.

He has very simple demand to the society, to the all garments industries related people, to the court, to the Government of Bangladesh and to the wider global citizens. He is not asking anyone to return back his son’s life. He is asking for the justice of his son’s M**der. This is his only demand. He cannot endure the fact that his innocent son is sleeping in graveyard alone while his killer(s) enjoying life in full throttle. He solely requests all to help support spreading the slogan below & help justice win over evil.
