All business involves, and most often revolves around, human relationships.
Our bosses are people (well, some of them are anyway...). Our subordinates are people. And our customers are people. We must develop rapport and trust, and we must be able to influence others, if we are to flourish and succeed.
Heck, forget flourish and succeed. In today's competitive world, our ability to build trust, rapport and otherwise influence others can determine our mere survival.
This is especially important for leaders. Because you tend to rely upon your intelligence, confidence and drive to succeed. They attributes serve you well. But... they will only take you so far, because leaders succeed by influencing exceptionalism in others. And, frankly, others are, at most, marginally impressed by your intelligence, drive and confidence. And they are not driven to perform by it.
You can absolutely increase your charisma and rapport building skills. And it's probably easier than you might imagine.
This article presents four, key tips to increase your charisma and rapport skills. This comes from research done at Stanford and other research institutions, as well as from my personal training and experience.
