Want to increase turnover? Well, then follow these 5 managerial tips

Of course you want to increase turnover! Who doesn't?

And, if you didn't know it - the one place you need to focus on is your workforce. Oh yes! Not your clients. Not the bank account. Your employees! After all, they are he ones that will be dealing with your clients and in turn bringing in the top dollar to fill that bank account.

First, let it be said that retaining good staff is tough - but at the end of the day, you will save on money if you do it right the first time. Hire a good recruitment company (cough cough nudge nudge) and then take these 5 managerial tips to work on keeping them.

1. Benefit Benefits Benefits

Offering your employees a good range of benefits is key. Just a salary doesn't cut it nowadays. There are many elements you can add in order to build an attractive package, from pension to life cover, from incentives to car allowances, from bonuses to health care.

2. Opportunity to Grow

Very few people want to stay in the same position and stagnate. Offering ways that they can grow and learn is essential. It is a worry, we know, that you give them all the tools and they up and leave eventually. But, with a firm foundation and a solid hand on a holistic approach, a well looked after employee won't just leave with no good reason.

3. Recognition

We may not be kids anymore, but everyone wants to be recognised for a job well done. A tap on the head won't quite suffice, but you can look at giving an employee, who has excelled or met goals, an experience instead of money. Even just acknowledging someone's skills set or abilities to the rest of the team can mean so much to someone.

4. Live by your company culture

If you haven't built that into your mission and vision, then you better do it soon. Creating a company culture and living by it is key to a forward thinking business. Your staff should know what its all about and hopefully if you hired correctly, will fall in line with it with no problem.

5. Open Door Policy

Its a tough one - as you don't want a high traffic scenario of desperately seeking Susans coming through your life constantly. But, making your employees aware that you are there for them and at what level, will help to create a good morale and relaxed atmosphere. People work better in friendlier and calmer environments - and in the end, are more productive.

Increased productivity leads to increased revenue - and there you go - one happy, healthy and wealthy family!
