"Who are you?" - I love this question because truthfully, I'm still on that journey. Ever since I've been a content machine on social media, I noticed that along the way I've become a better communicator and it became a journey of self-discovery.

Personal Branding = Journey of "You"

This is especially true when you start out and putting yourself out there.

In "String Speed" newsletter, I'm going to be sharing five tactics about leveraging content to grow your personal brand:

Quantity vs Quality: The more you do, the better you get. 

It’s a game of YOU! (Did you watch the video above?) In the Venn diagram below, we have to create a volume game of above-average content.

The more you write, the better your content becomes. The more videos you do, the easier it gets. The more progressive work becomes, the closer to self-discovery and quality excellence that you get.

To increase your visibility online, you got to put yourself out there. 

Clubhouse Tactic & Invite: Brand yourself

If you're looking for ways to make engagement happen in conversations online and off (or just feel less awkward), one way is by talking a LOT more than usual!

Clubhouse is great for introverts too - by being on stage, you have to rock up with value. Think about the long-term benefits of articulating yourself: gaining confidence through reflection and improvement from critique. You'll learn how your voice resonates with others - what they respond well to or not so much as time goes on

LinkedIn Tactic: Be a content machine 

One key lesson that I gained from being a 4x Top Voice is that being a content machine has helped me stand out. Every day, I will rock up and share my journey: My wins and failures help others along their journey too. Typos and all. I’m on your feed. 

If you only 1 hour (yeah, that doesn’t work) the growth will be almost non-existent. 

Let’s do the maths:

  • Person A does 1 hour of branding building over 4 weeks = 4 hours
  • Person B does 30min x 7 days over 4 weeks = 14 hours

Who do you think is going to grow faster? A or B?

I would use the 30 mins each day and go on a self-discovery, share:

  • Your knowledge
  • Your values
  • Your beliefs
  • Your likes/dislikes 
  • Your opinions
  • Your personality 

It’s that simple - spend 30mins each day, create content, post something, stand out with short bite-sized golden nuggets, like an IG Reel or YouTube Shorts.

The next trend to leverage: YouTube Short + Instagram Reels 

As you noticed, I’ve been using videos (60 seconds or less) to drop the golden nuggets or knowledge bombs.

YouTube just released Shorts and this is a golden opportunity to leverage. I also noticed that my Instagrams is getting more views
