Want it? GO FOR IT!

Want it? GO FOR IT!

The path in life is endless and completely depends on where you take it! Sure, it’s not always as pretty and peaceful as this picture above, but it can be if you accept everything that comes in your way as a positive learning experience and move on from it.

I’ve actually had time to reflect on the past year and can proudly say that I’ve accomplished everything I have wanted, know why? Because I went after everything I wanted that I never had!

1. Moving to another country for international experience

2. Working for an international, diversified company who appreciates hard work and has good values

3. Travel and become worldlier.

I’ve always had a hard time understanding why people don’t take a leap in life and do what it is they want, seeing so many people settling and doing what the norm and society expects of them. Having taken the leap myself, I now fully understand the fear that sets people back. Sure, I accomplished my 3 goals but it wasn’t easy and it’s not something everyone can swallow doing. Thankfully my fear happened after I took the leap….most usually think and process the decision before making it!

I’ve learnt over the past year - to be able to gain this mindset of going after what you want can only become a reality if you surround yourself with positive people, meditate and reflect and appreciate EVERYTHING you have in life from the good to the bad. Reality is, the bad can always be worse and the bad is what has shaped you!

Moving from Canada was not easy, it sure seemed easy during the process but once arriving to the UAE I realized how bad I just wanted to give up and go home! I gave myself 3 months, I said if I don’t find anything I’m going back and will settle down and figure out the rest later. The more positive side which thankfully is a LARGER side of my attitude said “NO WAY! You cannot move back to Canada, remember why you left! You want a change, you want to grow! You’re half way there by moving just push and make it happen!” I would wake up early research companies and apply till 1pm then give myself a break and soak up the sun at the beach. My first job unfortunately was not one that I had hoped for but was grateful nonetheless and worked hard. Month three, and major stress and anxiety later trying to start a new life in a new country, I will never forget when I told my flat mate I was ready to change jobs and work for a reputable company who promotes success, I told her about Naseba and she said APPLY NOW!

Life is too short and the world too big to have a less than desirable position! I diligently researched the company and the team noticing that the company slogan is “success is a choice” which really resonated with my mindset and attitude in life. I still wasn’t sure…for all I know the company could write anything on their website and have the team say scripted messages in their videos, but came to realize it was all genuine! What got me was reading blogs from the Chairman seeing his attitude and determination and how he takes challenges head on and manages to persevere. Digging further, I saw Sophie Le Ray, successful and determined CEO who launched a book and is a major supporter and promoter of nurturing female entrepreneurship. WOW power team at Naseba, I had a positive and supportive network of friends now it was time to work in an environment that promotes and supports success!

I applied and within days of renewing my visa for my 3rd and last month I got the offer at Naseba! I couldn’t believe it, I wanted it so bad, went for it, and…..GOT IT!

As for goal 3….I’ve already travelled before getting this job doing my visa runs and have a few upcoming trips I am looking forward to!

Want it? GO FOR IT! and if you come across some challenging periods and downfalls just remember….“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it.” – Maya Angelou
