So, what comes to your mind when you hear the word 'confidence'? Probably a person standing on stage in front of a large audience, speaking with a sharp tone, precise language, and a glorified personality. I don't blame you. We all have been taught that way. But let me clear this, a person standing on stage with shivering legs and a fearful tone is still a confident person. Ok. Lemme explain.
Confidence is not only about being fearless, extroverted, and socializing but it's more about accepting, learning, growing, and taking risks. It's about believing in yourself when everyone is busy criticizing. Confidence is beyond than just talking in front of a large crowd.?
Here are some qualities you can consider indulging yourself in:
- Do what feels right even if everybody is criticizing. No matter how many people say 'I know you better than you know yourself' in reality nobody knows you better than you know yourself. So please do yourself a favor and listen to what your heart has to say and act accordingly.
- Take a stand for yourself. I cannot exaggerate this point enough, you have to do this. Taking a stand for yourself doesn't mean you are disrespecting those around you, but if you are not doing that you are disrespecting your own self.
- Accept your own mistakes. Confidence is about guts and accepting one's mistake takes a lot of it. It is psychologically proven, when you accept your mistake, reflections of it are bound to get fader. Technically you are driving their attention from the mistake itself to the positive side that you have guts to accept it and are willing to improve.?

- Get ready to take risks. Be a venturesome personality who is looking to stake things for success. It shows that you trust yourself and is self-assured. If you don't give people a reason to trust you, they never will.
- Accept compliment with a grace. I know this concern a lot of people. They don't know how to reply to a compliment. Please don't self depreciate in reply. You can simply say 'thank you' or 'so sweet of you' or you can say something nice in return.?
- speak slowly and clearly. I know all of us have seen that one person who speaks bluntly and recklessly, that becomes unprofessional and gets hard to understand. So try to speak slowly and clearly. No matter even it takes time, it is only going to show that you are precise and knows what to speak.?
- Strike to be a good listener. I can guess how many times you heard this tip to be more 'confident'. But a good listener doesn't only listen actively but also encourages other people to speak. It shows that you are genuinely interested in other people and also have patience to listen.?
Conclusion:?
These tips I consider can grow your confidence as a working professional and can contribute to your personality.
