Want to Earn More per Client?

One of the biggest mistakes we see agencies make is charging for their time instead of the value they offer. 

 Let me ask you something… 

 If you know you provide awesome value to your clients, why aren’t you charging based on that value? 

 Why do so many people hesitate to do this?  

 Over the years, we've helped many agencies grow and boost their profitability. And what we’ve discovered is that often, the biggest changes in business need a mindset shift - particularly when it comes to pricing their services. 

 By shifting to value-based pricing, you bill your clients for the value you provide, not for the time you spent working. Or the cost of doing the work. 

 Your revenue increases as you create additional capacity and efficiencies - there’s more motivation for everyone to improve efficiencies and margins. And you profit more from having an efficient business than charging a specific rate per hour. 

 When I suggest this shift to underperforming businesses, I am not surprised to get pushbacks. They think any pricing change they make will lead to lost clients. 

 But, isn’t it just a fear-based excuse?  

 Think about it like this.  

 You’re worried that making the change in your pricing will make your clients abandon your business.  

 But are the clients who’d leave your business at that point really the people you want to work with? 

 At the end of the day, clients are after the value you deliver.  

 It’s critical to communicate that value to them. Emphasize the long-term and overall value of what you do for the client, even if short-term or intermediate goals are off-target. 

 Seeing the bigger picture of the value you bring is key to client retention.  

 Doing so will also support potential increases in your fees. Once they see what they stand to gain with the value you provide to them, they will hardly object to your pricing.
