Everyone is inspired by greatness, right?

I was inspired this week by witnessing greatness.

I’ve always been a big baseball fan, and so I was watching the World Series game earlier this week between the Dodgers and Red Sox.

Here’s the play that caught my eye—some of you may not immediately see how amazing this play is, but watch the replay. 

The truth about this is that great athletes make extraordinary plays look ordinary.

How many times has he practiced catching a baseball running full speed?

…since he was a child in Little League I am sure.  

Professional athletes prepare their entire lives to hopefully have the chance to do something remarkable when the game is on the line.

Many years ago, I actually wanted to be a baseball player.

I wanted to be a catcher, but I was never the best athlete.

Here’s the message I gave to my staff the next morning about what they—and YOU—can learn from this.

The truth is you have greatness in you.

Whether it's art, athletics, or anything else, greatness inspires you because it shows your potential.

When you work every day toward something, when you practice and train in whatever field you’re in, you are moving toward greatness.

So find that inner superhero or sports star in you today—the one that knows you can do incredible things.

Utilize that energy in your business!
