Want to do good but having trouble finding your team?

Want to do good but having trouble finding your team?

I'm excited to invite people to Covalent's community pitch event on September 10th in NYC!

As the Community Director for Covalent, I help the organization bring together people who might not typically interact, much less work together, to identify, form teams around, and launch projects that help communities.

We started Covalent because we learned, after many, many conversations:

  • People were sitting on awesome ideas, but they didn't know how or didn't have the right support to get started
  • People were developing amazing skills and wanted to put them to good use, but didn't know where to go to find their tribe
  • "Networking" events were generally awful and didn't create the kinds of connections people were looking for
  • There were lots of people feeling this way, and it had nothing to do with industry, sector, geographic location, gender, race, or socioeconomic status

Above all, people who wanted to do good work felt really lonely.

So in response, we're hosting a pitch event, and we'd love it if you joined us!

It's a great place for:

  • People who have been sitting on an idea for ages but don't know how to get started or want to find their team
  • Don't have an idea but want to work on something amazing

On Sept 10th, we'll give people space and time to pitch (and will work with them before the event to get them ready). At the event itself, we'll form spontaneous teams, then run the teams through our $1K Challenge, where they'll have four weeks to raise $1000.

At the end of the four weeks, they have a choice: use the $1K directly for their project or as their tuition to our 8-week bootcamp. The typical tuition for a 4-person team to the bootcamp is easily $8000, so this is a HUGE discount.

If you're ready to make a difference and find your tribe, join us on Sept 10th!
