Want a digitally savvy team? Three simple analytics questions you can keep asking
Transforming your team into digital superstars can be a tough ask.
Yet one digital behaviour, the use of analytics to make data driven decisions, can be encouraged when you ask the right question.
Here are 3 simple analytics questions to have up your sleeve:
Did we do better than last week on that metric?
If your team report success metrics, then make sure they are comparing metrics and KPIs with the previous period. Comparing this week with last is the simplest way to discover if what we did this week is any better or worse than last week.
Can you A/B test that?
A/B testing is where you show two versions of the same content to the same audience and see which version performs best. It's most common in advertising where you create two versions of the same ad and alternate which one you show.
Which channel is working best for us?
It is possible to compare apples with oranges - as long as you find a metric they have in common! Number of fruit, height of the tree and so on. Prioritising channels that work best is only common sense in the online world of infinite possibility with finite resources.
So that's my 3 questions - what others would you add to the mix?
