Want to be a dietitian with a difference?

My name is Liz Isenring. I am the Professor and Head of the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics Practice program at Bond University. I am an Advanced Accredited Practising Dietitian, researcher, lecturer, mentor, writer, conference presenter, and cook with a nutrition journey spanning over 20 years.

To keep you aware of the great things that we experience in the program I thought I’d share with you some of the exciting developments we have achieved in the past 12 months:

? Our program is currently provisionally accredited by the Dietitians Association of Australia, meaning that all graduates are eligible for Accredited Practising Dietitian status

? We had our first cohort of graduating students last year. Some of these alumni are now working in fabulous areas including clinical health, sports nutrition and private practice both in Australia and internationally

? As part of a mandatory overseas placement experience, our students embarked on an international nutrition trip to Vienna in Austria to discover enhance their global understanding of nutrition and dietetics issues. We have also just returned from a fabulous visit to Malaysia.

? Our students have had their articles published in blogs, health magazines and in international peer reviewed journals.

I strongly encourage you to think about beginning your studies in the Master of Nutrition and Dietetics Practice at Bond University. Why? Here are seven great reasons:

1. We have world-class learning and research facilities that students engage with every day.

2. Our staff are leaders in their field and committed to your nutrition and dietetics educational journey. Our team has been recognised with multiple awards in teaching and research excellence.

3. We have awesome partnerships with leaders in the health, nutrition and dietetics fields. These include the Maggie Beer Foundation, Dietitian Connection, My Nutrition Clinic, internationally recognised researchers, successful private practitioners and business owners, nutrition bloggers and sporting identities such as the Gold Coast Suns, the Australian Institute of Sport and Queensland and Australian Rugby.

4. We facilitate a work-integrated learning approach to our degree. We have embedded internships in clinical, food service, research and community and public health nutrition as well as an international and elective placement. We also structure our assessments to be geared towards authentic tasks to ensure our graduates are work-ready.

5. The Bond University Master of Nutrition and Dietetic Practice is the first of its kind. As an Australian Quality Framework level 9-extended- it is equivalent to a 3 year master program completed in a two year time frame (with our trimester system). We cover topics that are not only important now but instil critical thinking , business, marketing and entrepreneurial skills so that our graduates are competitive for advertised jobs, can create their own jobs and be ready to adapt to the changing employment market.

6. You will have the most personalised educational experience of your life to date. Unlike larger universities, we have small class sizes so you get to know our teaching and support staff by name. They take an interest in you and your future and will mentor and direct you with their wisdom, experience and contacts. At large universities you are a number, at Bond you are a person!

7. Finally, the quality of the educational experience you will have at Bond is second to none. Ranked first in Australia by QILT (Quality Indicators for Learning and Teaching, 2015) we pride ourselves on delivering a personalised educational experience that will change the way you learn, think and react to the world around you. We pride ourselves on producing Dietitians with a Difference who Make a Difference!

I lead a passionate, talented and dynamic team that is determined to see you walk out of our Master degree job ready and linked to employers who know the value of Bond graduates.

Please contact me directly if you'd like to discuss your Nutrition and Dietetics study options here at Bond.

Our next intake to this wonderful program is coming up this May. We hope to have you join us!
