Want To Attract Your Ideal Clients on LinkedIn? Here’s how...

Have you ever wanted to attract your ideal clients through LinkedIn without going down the road of sending spammy, salesy cold direct messages to people?

If so, you’re not alone.

When I first started building my business on LinkedIn, I thought I had to do it the way everyone else seemed to be doing it.

I thought my only option was to message hundreds of random strangers every day with my service offer and hope that someone bites.

I didn’t enjoy doing this at all and, to be honest, it was a lot of hard work. I felt like a “snake oil salesman” - you know, the kind that travels around with his briefcase in those old movies, knocking on people’s doors and getting the door slammed in his face every time.

Except the online equivalent wasn’t slammed doors but people ignoring my messages. Some probably went on to block or report me to LinkedIn as a spammer!

This wasn’t the way I wanted to do business. It didn’t fit with who I was or how I wanted to relate to people. It just didn’t feel right or authentic.

And the worst part of it was that it wasn’t bringing in the income I wanted. I was putting in a lot of work - that I didn’t even like - for little to no results.

There had to be a better way!

The problem with cold LinkedIn outreach

You see, the problem with sending cold messages on LinkedIn is that most people hate receiving these just as much as you hate sending them!

You must have had this scenario happen to you before - you’re busy minding your own business on LinkedIn and out of nowhere comes a message from someone you don’t know asking you to sign up to their newsletter, to book a call, to hire them… or whatever else random service request they have.

If you’re anything like the majority of people, your first reaction to a message like that would probably be to block the person or, at best, ignore them and their message.

The reason this cold messaging approach doesn’t work is that you and I are fed up with “sales” people, in the traditional sense of the word.

We’re tired of people trying to “sell” to us at every turn - on TV, on Google searches, YouTube adverts, even in our email inboxes.

There’s so much noise out there that we don’t know who to trust, so that spammy, cold outreach message in our inbox is the last thing we want to see when we’re hanging out on LinkedIn.

But here’s the dilemma - as a business owner, you DO need to sell and LinkedIn IS a great place to do business.

So how do you make this happen without sending spammy, salesy cold direct messages to strangers?

Luckily, I’ve discovered the solution to this problem….

Selling without spamming

In order to attract your ideal clients on LinkedIn without resorting to sending spammy, salesy cold direct messages, you need to get people to:

  • Know You
  • Like You
  • Trust You

This right there is the tri-factor of “social selling”.

Social selling is the antidote to cold outreach.

Social selling is the process by which you build your personal brand on LinkedIn and you use this brand to serve, connect, engage and build relationships with your ideal clients, primarily through content.

It’s where - in the minds of your ideal clients - you go from being a random LinkedIn stranger who “wants their money” to a trusted advisor that they know, like and trust.

And when this shift happens, it becomes so much easier to sell your services on LinkedIn. In fact, instead of you being the one chasing your ideal clients all the time, they’ll be reaching out to you to ask how they can work with you!

But here’s the thing - in order for your ideal clients to build that ‘know, like, trust’ factor in you, they need to SEE you and they need to see you OFTEN.

In other words, you have to start being visible on LinkedIn!

There IS another way!

Now obviously, that’s easier said than done, right?

You can’t normally just start being visible on LinkedIn to attract your ideal clients without having some kind of knowledge on how to build your brand profile and message, where to find your ideal clients, and how to create valuable content that engages and captures their attention.

You’ll probably also need to overcome any fears, doubts and misconceptions you might have about confidently showing up on this platform and using it to build an authentic business that’s in line with who you are and how you want to show up in the world.

That’s why I created my Visible to Profitable LinkedIn VIP Day service - a one-to-one coaching intensive that walks you through my complete system for attracting your ideal clients and building a visible and profitable business on LinkedIn, without the need to ever send spammy, cold outreach messages.

If you’d like, we can hop on a quick Zoom call to see if the VIP Day is right for you.

Just book a time to chat that works for you here .

During that call, we’ll explore how your business could become more visible and profitable through LinkedIn and what your best next steps would be if you decide to pursue this strategy.

Spots are limited, and there’s zero obligation to work with me, but if we do end up being a fit, I’ll invite you to become a private client of mine and you can sit back and relax while I do all the hard work for you to help you build your business here on LinkedIn.

I look forward to speaking with you!

Much love,

Mildred ??

That you for sharing this! Cold DMs made me always frustrated. But I changed them to a conversation about their business and sales. Many often it ends with coaching sessions as seems the cold DM strategy doesn′t work for everyone :-)
