WannaCry and ICS - A Couple of Heavyweights Weigh In

WannaCry and ICS - A Couple of Heavyweights Weigh In

By now you have heard a TON about WannaCry. The latest iteration of ransomware taking the internet (and news cycles) by storm. And for good reason too. It is a very effective, fast spreading piece of code that uses multiple attack vectors to penetrate into hundreds of thousands of systems. Our friend Greg Hale over at ISS had the foresight to pick the brains of two very respected and learned industry experts, John Cusimano and Eric Byres. His article is a thoughtful and well laid out explanation of the code itself as well as some very useful and practical tactics you can take to minimize your threat profile. And by the way, many of the actions suggested are already present in our own platform Verve Security Center. So I recommend you take the time to read this article. And when you are ready, hit me up and we can go over how Verve can help you manage these types of risks faster, more efficiently and with confidence you have covered all your bases!

Talk to you soon!
