Wanna Play ?

Every step that we take in our life is based on certain values. What are these values? These values are not principles to guide what is right or what is wrong. How our life looks like as a whole is based on the values that are important to us.

I often play a game with my clients where I give them a list of values and they have to mark the ones they resonate the most with. They can either have those values or they aspire to have them. Selecting these values have to be quick. Really fast. Because your conscious mind should not be entertained. It is purely a game of subconscious mind just like rapid fire.

The next step is to select 10 most important values of all the values that you selected in the fisrt place. Again, it has to be super quick because if you will think upon each and every value you will escape selecting the values which you truly live upon and fall prey to selecting the ones you only idealize to have.

Now the 3rd step is very crucial where I ask you to select one value out of the two options I give from the values you selected. Again quick! And this is how we make a hierarchy of values.

In an ideal situation if I asked you to make a hierarchy of values by yourself, you may have selected the totally opposite ones. But as said, subconscious mind knows it all. It is taking decisions for you without your awareness. Your daily actions are determined by it to a great level.

The decisions you take are based on one value over the other in a given situation for example charity over money, fun over risk, money over family etc. And then we compare the life you want and the life you are living as showcased in the game. And then we figure out the call of action in order to have the life you desire.

These values does not remain constant, these can also change according to the situations in your life for example when you are a student, learning can be an important value or if you are recently diagnosed with a heart problem then health and wellness can become important for you.

Hence, simply put if there is a discrepancy between the values you have and the life you are living, then it is difficult to attain the inner peace. But if your actions are in correspondence with your values, life will become more easier and happier.
