Walser Donates $101K to Nonprofits with ‘Shop for a Cause’

Our cars drive change.

The motto of the Walser Foundation couldn't be truer following Walser's annual Shop for a Cause campaign. Our recent sales event is driving over $101,000 to nonprofits in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area, and Wichita, KS region.

Every June, Walser customers can choose a local nonprofit to support before getting the keys to their new car. Every new or used vehicle purchase earns a $25 donation to the charity of the customer's choice.

New partner charities are selected by the Walser Foundation each year. This year’s nonprofits support a wide range of social services, including men's mental health, homelessness, domestic violence, childhood illness, food justice and equity, girls' education and entrepreneurship, and more.

“The Walser Foundation was founded on the belief that education is the single greatest way to impact someone’s life. Shop for a Cause allows us to support different but equally compelling community groups outside that mission,” said Nancy Warner , Director of the Walser Foundation.?

Walser Automotive Group commits 5% of all pre-tax earnings to the Walser Foundation, which annually funds over $500,000 in grants and sponsorships. The Walser Foundation primarily focuses its giving on areas of education and workforce development.

“Shop for a Cause is always well received by our customers. People are genuinely excited to learn about these organizations and be involved in the giving process,” Warner said.

The Face It Foundation is among the seven chosen community organizations this year. The nonprofit focuses on men’s mental health, giving men support to face depression, take control of their recovery, and get their lives back.

Mark Meier, Executive Director of the Face It Foundation, said the donation from Shop For a Cause means a great deal to the men they serve.

“With this funding, we will be able to fully fund, for an entire year, our peer support-trauma-based therapy program.?Outcomes from this program have included a significant reduction of the impact of depression?and anxiety on our guys, as well as dramatic improvements in overall quality of life and connection with their partners, family, friends, and workplace,” Meier said.

Walser’s 2023 Shop for a Cause event supported the following organizations:

Ann Bancroft Foundation

People Serving People

The Food Group

Face It Foundation

Wichita's Littlest Heroes

Prairie View, Inc.

The Women's Network
