Walmart's "Stuff the Bus" Scores an "A+"

Saturday, August 3rd was Walmart's national "Stuff the Bus" campaign. Stuff the Bus is an annual campaign in partnership with The Salvation Army, where shoppers are asked to purchase at least one school supply item from a shopping list, then deposit it in the large blue bin when they exit the store. The school supplies are then distributed by The Salvation Army to needy school children in the community.

Pictured at the Super Walmart store in Hammond, Indiana is Advisory Board member Cal Bellamy hard at work engaging Walmart customers, and standing with the morning's bounty of school supplies. Soon after Cal's shift was over at noon, we filled a large blue bin. Volunteer Linda Mendoza took over from Cal. Before the afternoon was over, we filled a second blue bin with donated school supplies.

My thanks to Walmart and its generous customers for the positive impact they are making on their communities! My thanks to Cal and Linda too! It was great to spend the day with you!
