THE WALL STREET JOURNAL: Opinion | Biden’s Frailty Isn’t Breaking News

I vividly remember the events noted here and how his frailty struck me at the time. He was obviously in a state of accelerating mental and physical decline which, I erroneously thought, would be fully disclosed by a press committed and duty bound to report “all the news that’s fit to print.” In the earliest stages of his underground bunker campaign, it was overwhelmingly evident that “ there was no there there.”

I assumed his appearance on the Presidential candidate stage would be brief and inconsequential. I believed it would be impossible to withstand the respectful but withering accounts of his unfitness for office which would inevitably come from men and women who were pledged to serve a public trust not indulge in a multiyear betrayal for the selfish sake of personal preferences. The end of a jocular but brief honeymoon period would surely come to pass, and Biden the Elder would exit gracefully with his dignity intact, to settle into a senior statesman advisory role commensurate with his diminishing capacities. I gravely underestimated the press, and Jill Biden, and absolutely never contemplated the resurgence of Hunter. It is an ugly sight when the impetus for public service is transformed into an unabashed lust for power. How unseemly the Biden’s are. How urgent it is for them to depart before they do more harm.

?I did not anticipate the unconscionable excursion from the personal morals and professional ethics of what I had formerly thought to be self-respecting journalists. I am shocked, in retrospect, that with barely a whimper, they relinquished an illustrious legacy by willfully entering into an unspoken pact, not to shine a light on an incompetent candidate in his dotage, but by persistent acts of omission and commission to inveigle the facts, manipulate perceptions of reality, stir passions of hatred against an opponent possessing charisma but stunted grace, and display the heir apparent in a tenuously credible aura of competence.?

?All their efforts came to naught at the debate when their choice listlessly fretted and fumbled before a national audience whose initial shock elided into dismay and anger with the growing ?realization that they had been ?the victims of a four-year massive hoax. In the space of moments, the meticulously constructed fraud dissipated like a morning fog in the noonday sun. Democracy had been cloaked in stifling darkness but now it has been reinvigorated to sally forth to contend with those determined ?to banish it from where it belongs.

?The ?suppression of the undeniable deterioration of Mr. Biden’s prowess as a functioning person ?constitutes a national scandal which did not occur accidentally, or in a vacuum. It has wide ranging repercussions which demand a public investigation by a Special Prosecutor and a Select Congressional Committee. It was not ?a one-off excursion from the highest aspirations of mankind, rather, it has muffled the people by a prolonged perjurious enterprise constituting ?a wrong so grievous that it brought our society to the brink of chaos.?

?January 6th was a protest gone riotously out of control, but, in contrast to that public display,?the news manipulators and their minions formed a cabal to plot and execute a secret insurrection, in public view, but out of plain sight. Those found responsible for organizing the most reprehensible ?heist of our freedom in history must be held accountable. They conspired to render impotent a government founded on the proposition that it would be, of the people, by the people, and for the people, and to replace it with an autocratic regime buttressed by the stultifying propaganda of their connivance.
