The Wall of Deception

The world cannot afford a United States, the globe’s only “super power” and self-proclaimed caretaker of democracy and protector of human rights, to go AWOL on its core principles; principles that are also shared across the spectrum of humanity regardless of faith, political ideologies, economic perspectives and life philosophies. Believing in global citizenry and the shared struggles of all people, the international community is obliged to confront and refuse to normalize an American leadership that peddles in blatant lies, irrational narratives and racist bigotry.

When irrational, hate-based fear and the resulting "need" for divisive ideologies and militarized security shape and drive policy, rather than a genuine desire to understand the "other", to work together, to see commonalities and not simply highlight differences as reasons not to cooperate, you achieve what has always been feared, constantly talked about, yet denied even as it happens in plain sight - an America resembling and behaving like a fascist state, permeating and destabilizing every level of society. It is a self-fulfilling prophecy of epic proportions, one that has tremendous implications for the rest of the world.

The threat to the US is not from abroad. It is not terrorism as traditionally defined by the media and willingly accepted by a misinformed general public. No, the threat to the American Republic is the US itself; its uninformed masses, its manipulative politicians and greedy corporate elite.

The United States risks imploding and the probable cause will be its own overreactions and undermining of its core values, its morals and constitutional principles. Scoring political points under any circumstance with a careless disregard for truth has turned into a livelihood and mainstay of political parties. “Alternative facts” and the perception of truth is deemed more convenient and immediately relevant, while dispensing with facts and true context is considered the norm in order to get elected, stay elected and pursue very narrow special interests. It allows politicians to execute exclusive agendas that would not pass under normal, truthful circumstances.

A world without a fair-minded, rationally-bound, morally-conscious and truth-obligated US leaves a vacuum, both here and abroad, for demagogues like Trump, Putin, Assad, Duterte, Netanyahu, Sissi, LePen, etc, to fill; and with misguided popular approval for good measure.

Americans have been unable to fix the problems perceived via the prism of their irrational fears. Why? Well, how do you expect to fix a "problem" with no base in reality? Sharia taking over the US court system, Muslim brotherhood infiltrating the US government, immigrants "stealing" US jobs, Obama wanting to destroy the US economy, "millions of illegals voting", are all ghost narratives designed to sustain fear by reinforcing imagined threats in order to ascend to power and consolidate authority within respective establishments.

How do you apply a proper solution to a problem that either does not exist or exists as an insignificant fraction of its propagated projection? The answer, respectively, is A) you can't, B) extremely difficult without compromising the general welfare of all. Rather, what you end up accomplishing is creating real problems on the trail of the supposed solutions to "problems" that did not exist in the first place; which are then compounded by ever more truth-denying rhetoric about why you tried to fix the "problem" initially.

Is your head spinning? Do you see the logic though?

This is the reality of the United States of America. It is a winning trend preferred by an immoral, unChrist-like minority (surely you don't expect racism, sexism and lies to be part of Christ's political portfolio, wwjd?), as evidenced by Trump's electoral (not popular) victory.
